“Because of the premature closure of the ice rink we have been unable to complete the joint competition (now called the Paterson Trophy). The committee have decided to draw a line under the competition and declare the results as they stand. Therefore the winning team is Jim Carmichael, Iain Cogle, Fiona Main and June Stevenson.

The co-operation between our clubs has been a very happy one according to all reports I have received. I hope that it will continue for many years to come. In the meantime till we meet again take care of yourselves.

Cheers

John Jarvie

New Monklands Secretary

Following on from John’s notification:

“……………regarding the destination of the Paterson Trophy. May I also add the decision was not theirs alone, John did consult with some if not all of Lanark CC members, who agreed that given the state of the world right now, this was best and fairest outcome. So well done, Jim, Iain, Fiona and June from all Lanark participating members.

Regards.

Gordon Fraser – LCC Secretary & Match Secretary”

And:

Well done Jim, Iain, Fiona and June. In discussion with Jim beforehand we discussed our relative positions with regards to the ‘Hoodlums’ and how it was good that the final outcome was so close between the three of us. Pity though, it would have been interesting, the result of the Final game between Anne and and myself. One thing’s sure, it keeps family harmony  (or it saves me doing additional house work if I had won – kidding?)

Cheers all,

Jack(:>J
