LCC – Pairs Competition – Latest

The first round of the Pairs Competition took place last night.  Anne and Jack Hood were defeated by Hugh Campbell and Ian Reid.  The second group of pairs ie Alistair Mackintosh/Frank Caddell playing against Tom Steele/Robin Brown had an interesting game as it ended in a draw.  So, a draw shot challenge (with no sweeping) was held to decide the winner.  Alistair’s stone drew to the pot lid – well done.  However, Tom and Robin have a second bite of the cherry as they proceed to the next round as the ‘Highest Up Losers’.

Good luck to all who remain in the competition.

Having, debated, consulted, sought expert opinion, not to mention having had to confess to my inability to find a suitable substitute, the consensus was I should seek to postpone the final.

I have therefore spoken with Jeannette at Hamilton Ice Rink who has agreed to cancelling our Ice allocation for tonight and to rescheduling for an afternoon date of our choice in the New Year. Without financial penalty.

    Regards to all.
