29/09/17 – JH Lanark#2 – The runner’s up rink in last year’s Glaister –  JH, MY (HC) AM (RB) BW, were representing the Club in this first round of the LIR’s – TB DICK knockout competition against New Monklands.

It was looking like a run-away game for Lanark, going into the 6th end 4 up at 5/1, then New Monkland’s pulled it back somewhat with a 3.  5/4 into the last end, with a worked at – protected 4 for Lanark. Jack burning his last stone, for a final score of 9/4. Well done lads! (and lassies in lieu of Anne Macrae not being able to play).

The next game is Friday 20th Oct @ 1745hrs.

And good luck to Donald’s Rink on the 5th against Lesmahagow#2.

  1. Well done Donald and your Rink’s 8/5 victory over Lesmahagow#2. Wonder how the game ‘panned’ out?

    And see you on the 20th Oct for the second round. Presume Anne is okay to play with me that night?

  3. Well didn’t we do well last Friday night with Donald’s Rink winning 10/2 against Bellshill and your’s truly’s Rink – 10/4 against East Kilbride Ladies.

    Well done both rinks and onward to Round 3 with Donald v Avondale Heather#1 and interestingly, my own rink against v Avondale Heather#2, and if we are successful, we are against each other in the Fourth Round – emmm!

  4. Well the latest:

    Donald’s Rink through to the Semi’s v Avondale Heather#2 (Alex Fleming, Greg Allan, Graham, Graham) with my own Rink – JH MY AM BW just failing to qualify. Following a ‘nip & tuc’ game at the end of the sixth end we were 7/6 up lying shot in the seventh but not quite frozen against a back 12′ stone. Alex had to come with controlled wait to peel our yellow out for a two. And indeed the ‘dirty’ deed was done for a two with a final score of 7/8. Well done to Alex, but of course I couldn’t wish his Rink all the best in the Semi’s cause he’s against Donald.

    So come on Donald. You know what your against (;>) (Donald was present)

    And of course thanks to my own Rink for holding our own against a fairly strong opposition. Appreciated how you all played. Pat yourself on the back!!!!!!

    Hi all,

    Just a wee reminder that Donald’s Rink DM HC IC DG are in tonight’s TB Dick semi-final against Avondale Heather @ 2000hrs. You may not know that Lanark has only won this competition once https://www.lanarkcurlingclub.org/wp-content/uploads/TB-Dick_Standings.pdf – so fingers (and anything else you can get your hands on) crossed.

  6. Well it wasn’t to be with Donald’s rink loosing out. In discussion with Donald he stated that Alex’s Rink were certainly producing the ‘goods’ with a convincing win. Interestingly, he said there Lead, apart from the rest of the rink was specifically in good form, whereas when I played them I found the Lead the weakest member?

    So till next season…………
