Hi

I’ve just had a telephone call from Past President, Alistair Mackintosh, who is just returning from The Peak, Stirling following the launch of the Matt Murdoch Foundation.

Alistair is asking to watch this on the STV News tonight (tea time) as it is of interest to all curlers…..

(Alistair Mackintosh and Bill Jackson were members of the Rotary Canadian Tour that Matt Murdoch captained, and this is the legacy that has now been set up following Matt’s death).

A fuller account of Alistair’s encounters with the Murdochs will be included in this edition of the Rocks!

Hi All!

With the introduction of our new website you might have thought the need for the club’s Magazine – LANARK ROCKS would have diminished. But that is not the case. The ROCKS has always had a more personal feel within its contents with articles relating to members experiences in and, indeed, outwith curling.

In keeping with this tradition, one of my last tasks of this season is to prepare the latest edition of the ‘Rocks’. But I need your help. I really need your input to keep the Rocks interesting & vibrant. So if you have any experiences during the season or indeed anything that you think would interest your fellow members then please forward it to me (along with any photographs if possible) – that would be great.

So far, for the next edition, there will a fuller write-up on the Prizegiving  and Jack has put together his story on how we have taken the Club’s existence back to 1783 along with maps and pictures – could we go further back? as well a couple of other items of interest. So if you anything that you could contribute it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Anne 🙂
