CLYDESDALE TROPHY – An END too far!

30/11/14 – JH

On a beautiful Sunday morning (not always the best of weather for curling – great when it is chucking it down outside which justifies the good use of a rotten day) 🙂 – saw Donald MacRae DM, Jack Hood JH, Anne Hood AH and Anne MacRae AM report for duty, to do battle, to try and win the CLYDESDALE TROPHY for the Club for only the second time (Checkout the STANDINGS here).

Consisting of 3 x 4 end games, (ends counting and shots up next) we slide off against Lesmahagow Ladies first with 2 ends each. Keeping in the spirit of the ‘ends’, again it was 2 ends against the eventual WINNERS Douglas CC, and finally losing 1/3 against Lesmahagow to finish overall with 5 ends.

Good day was had by all and Donald reckoned he had had steadying influence on Jack by refusing to buy him a Guinness until the competition was over. Hmm?
